The Wellness Center

The Wellness Center is home to student Health Services and Counseling Services.

Student Health Services

Student Health Services welcomes all students and provides them with holistic, compassionate, fair, equitable, and evidence- based quality, affordable health care. Student Health Services is staffed by nurse practitioners and overseen by a licensed internal medicine physician. We encourage students to explore the many facets of wellness, preparing them to be healthy, thoughtful global citizens. Services include evaluation and treatment of acute illness or injury, gynecological care, sexual health services, physical exams, immunizations, prescription and over-the-counter medications, lab work, vaccines, health education, and referrals. Visits to Student Health Service are confidential and free of charge. There are nominal fees for prescription medications, vaccines, and lab work. Students may pay with a credit card or charge to their student account. Health insurance cannot be billed, but a receipt will be provided

Counseling Services

Students sometimes experience difficulties that can complicate and undermine success in their academic and personal lives. The Elmhurst University Counseling Services (EUCS) staff provides a variety of services in a confidential setting to help students understand their problems and themselves, achieve more satisfying relationships, improve their academic performance, and make more effective career and life choices. These services include individual, couples and group counseling; psycho educational workshops and programming; and a variety of self-help materials.

All students meet with a counselor for an initial assessment. At this meeting, the counselor will work with the student to determine if the services at EUCS best meet the student’s needs or if a community referral would be more appropriate. All EUCS appointments are free of charge and included in tuition. All EUCS services are private and confidential, except in very limited circumstances as authorized or required by law. Counseling records are not part of the student’s academic record.
